Welcome!

Assignment: For our first activity today we're using the white boards in this room to explore issues that define the context for White Center and working families.

You will find a question written at the top of many of these boards:

Using the markers provided, please write a response to each question.

After you've written your response, explain it verbally to a minimum of one other person, and then listen to at least one other person's explanation of what they wrote in response to the same question. Please do this for each board.

Please don't go around the room with the same person - talk to a different person at each board.

After you've finished, help yourself to a cup of coffee and a snack, and take a seat.

Boards:

What forces/events/ideas are working to change White Center/Boulevard Park?

What forces/events/ideas are working to inhibit White Center/Boulevard Park from changing?

What are the most important services families in White Center/Boulevard Park (youth, working people, unemployed) will need from an ‘integrated services system’ in 2010?

What does ‘Integrated Services’ mean for White Center/Boulevard Park?

What are the desired results for families of integrated services in White Center/Boulevard Park?

What would build on the strengths and resources of White Center families?

What are the challenges to neighborhood integrated services?
