Trios Assignment | Sharing Assignment | Customer Viewpoints

Teams | Photos and Walls

This is an activity to be done in groups of 3 or 4.

Find your partners from the list on the back of this page.

With your partners, choose a breakout area and complete
steps 1 and 2 below.

Step 1:

Please take 15 minutes to discuss what you learned in the trade shows.

What did you find most interesting?

What surprised you?

What is most important?

Step 2: Interview 2008

Take a single-panel white board and put your names in large letters on the upper right hand corner. You have 45 minutes to enjoy lunch and complete this assignment.

Scenario: It's August 2008 and the White Center/Boulevard Park Integrated Services System has been up and running since late 2003. It”s been very successful in achieving the goals and objectives articulated in 2003, and is adding significant value in the White Center and Boulevard Park communities. Your group has been a major part of this success — in fact, you have been so successful that you are being interviewed by Katie Couric on the Today Show.

Assignment: Please reflect on the past 5 years and respond to each of the following questions that Katie is asking you:

  • Describe the integrated services system. Who are all the players involved and how does it work? How do participants/providers in the system collaborate with each other? How do they work together to be “more than the sum of the parts.”

  • What services and programs are offered?

  • How does the system focus on prevention.

  • What makes this integrated services system so successful? What specific results are you seeing in White Center/Boulevard Park? How does the “system” measure its impact and success?

  • How is the “system” coordinated/organized?

  • Knowing what we know now, what would you have done differently?

Take the next 45 minutes (including lunch) to reflect and dialog about these questions. Create your “vision” of the system on the white wall and capture your thoughts about the past 5 years.

Product: You will be sharing the results of this work with others in 45 minutes.
